Welcome !
Welcome to Candlelight Cottage. The cottage was built around 1840 as the village chapel and was converted to make 2
bedroom self catering holiday accommodation in 2010. It is set in the grounds of the owners property in a small
predominantly stone village on the edge of the Nene valley near to the picturesque town of Stamford, Burghley House and
the banks of Rutland Water. The village boasts a pub serving food and there is a playground and playing field just down
the road.
The cottage sleeps 4 in twin and king sized bedrooms and is well
equipped with everything you need for a relaxing break. Outside
is a private bar-b-que patio area with table and chairs. Breaks are
available from 2 days upwards, please contact us for availability.
The local area is ideal for walking or cycling as well as fishing or sailing at the nearby famous Rutland Water and Grafham
Water or on the village stretch of the River Nene. There are many pretty stone villages and market towns nearby and a fine
range of places to eat out out if the mood takes you. Children are well catered for with a station for the Nene valley Steam
Railway on the outskirts of the village and Sacrewell Farm visitor centre just down the road. If you fancy a trip a little
further afield the cathedral cities of Cambridge and Lincoln can be reached in around an hour, as can Royal Sandringham or
the North Norfolk coast with its quaint seaside resorts and beaches. After catching a train at nearby Peterborough station
you can also be in London with all its many attractions in less than an hour.
